Editorial Feedback

Asked by Michael Wendroff on April 7, 2023

Hi,
I'm being published by a traditional publisher. Just got the editor's feedback, and there's lots of it! How much leeway do I have–do I have to follow every suggestion/comment?

Jerry's Answer

No, Michael, but pick your battles carefully. If you accept most of it--it is coming from a professional who's on your side, after all--the editor should hear you if you're passionate about something. But even if you have a reason for why you did what you did originally, there may be a way to make it even clearer and still satisfy his/her issue with it.
