Fiction Size of writing for publication

Just finished live session didn't have box so couldn't send in question. However great session as usual.
In a one off project, how many words are acceptable. If an editor sees 110,000 against say 60,000 is there a guideline? It is with applying the guilds advice, interesting throughout, but concerned for Editors initial impression.
