You mentioned that the first line of the manuscript should be left justified. Should each chapter also open with the first line left justified?
Should the manuscript have page numbers?

Yes and yes, Lori.

  • Microsoft Word.doc or .docx file format
  • Normal Microsoft Word top, bottom, and side margins
  • 12 pt. Times New Roman font
  • Left justification, not full
  • .5” first line paragraph indents
  • Double-spaced
  • No extra space between paragraphs [important; go to Layout and make sure Spacing Before and Spacing After are both set at zero]
  • Only one space between sentences [one space bar touch, not two]
