Front Matter acknowledgement
Asked by Lewis Jenkins on October 29, 2020
My most recent pro editor, Diane Goullard, asks me to acknowledge her work on my book in the book because it would help her ranking in her field. I chose her because she was in the Christian Writer's Market, and is bi-lingual (a natural French speaker and qualified to translate government and business documents). Her edits saved my bacon not least because I was slightly off on some French stuff.. I am glad to describe her help on the book page of my website, but I do not want an Acknowledgements page in the book because there are too many and I cannot decide where to draw the line. Is it kosher to put just the bare mention on the Copyright page under the credits for the book cover?

Yes, Lewis, simply listing the editor would be fine. You could make it as simple as her name or you could say something like, "Thanks to my editor ________, who saved my bacon more than once..."
