Info dumps

Asked by Brad conny on January 31, 2024

Hello Jerry,
I came across a lot of writing tips videos on youtube about info dumps. And I am a bit confused.
My story begins with the MC is being interrogated by the Empire's agents. So he had them in detail about his life before his arrival into the Empire. Else they will torture him further or kill him.
My question is – Is this considered info dump? If so, how should I avoid it? Please give me some tips or enlighten me about this topic.

Thank You in advance and for your previous answers.
