Love Letters (follow up question)

Asked by Abram Brown on January 7, 2024

Hello again Jerry,
This is a follow up question from my original "Love Letters" question posted 12/23/23. I indicated that I have (23) love letters written to my significant other spanning a period of 5 years that I want to publish. You suggested that I allow the reader to deduce the story of my letters (instead of adding a written story).

You then asked me a question of whether or not the book of love letters would be short (in terms of pages). The answer is yes, as most of my love letters are two typed pages each (a few are three types pages), so I imagine would be ~50 pages of content.

That being said, what do you advise as my next step toward publishing? I've never published any literary work (other than a research paper many moons ago in grad school) and just joined your Writers Guild last month.

I very much appreciate your help!

Jerry's Answer

You're likely going to have to self-publish this, Abram, as it's pretty short to interest an agent or a publisher. Maybe look into Kindle Self Publishing.
