Ask Jerry
Motherly character
Asked by Emma Ryan on January 19, 2021
Hi Jerry,
I am writing a book and my editor said I need to make the main character more motherly ( she has a 5 year old son ).
Any suggestions on how I can do this .
Love the guild .

If you're a mother, you shouldn't need input from me, Emma. And if you're not, interview some mothers. :)
In my experience, motherhood wholly changes a woman. Regardless her personality before, she becomes a mama bear. Hassle my kid and you have to come through me.
A good mother personifies unconditional love.
