Non native speaker advice
Asked by Carsten Kleinmeulman on January 13, 2021
Hi Jerry,
At first, I'd like to thank you for the amazing trial. I like the content and see tons of opportunities for improvement.
For a long time, I have the drive to write a good fiction fantasy story. I joined the guild to help me with some starter questions and to get a good foundation. (As it is not easy to actually start., and write more than 1000 words..)
But, I am not a native English speaker. So the way of writing can sometimes be an issue. because of this. Like to write it in the same/correct tense, or to not know the best word of this exact situation.
Do you have any suggestions, tips, and tricks, other than reading a lot of books, to close the gap?
Or any suggestions or comments for me in this situation as a non-native starter?
Thank you in advance.

Becoming proficient enough in English, when it's your second language, to be able to write a book is a high hill to climb, Carsten. Why not write it in your own language and find a translator you trust?
