On The Nose writing, more
Asked by Denise Franck on January 27, 2021
You suggested I revisit on the nose writing after my last question. Argggh! Thought I was doing okay. So I put nose to grind stone. 🙂 Found a bit on POV that helped me. Described a ship in a lot of detail as it's sinking, boring. A different version inserted a person into the paragraph with action. Okay, it sounds so obvious now, but it was an eye-opener for me– description vs a story. I guess I just needed to look at things from different angles until one clicked, even if it was presented in a POV piece. At least, I hope it clicked.
I also watched James Bell in Master Class and found I had his book, Plot & Structure, on my shelf, unread. Now reading, appreciate the guidance.
What is your best suggestion for a book on characters?
Thanks.
