Preparing for Writers Conference
Asked by Grace Klaassen on May 1, 2023
What do you suggest I take to the Write to Publish Conference? I'm riding the train, traveling light, not wanting to take my computer. But I don't want to leave anything at home I might need to pitch my memoir to an agent or publisher.
I'm looking forward to putting a few names together with faces! And getting to hear you speak!
Writing for the Soul Conference in 2008 was my first real conference. My writer friend Deb thought I had an excellent proposal, but I needed to find a publisher who agreed.
I'm excited seeing new authors here. I can't wait to meet other writers, agents, and speakers, etc. and I'm excited to hear you speak, and to meet.
We've planned a trip to watch the Unshackled program recorded. To spend time with family. Thanks for all your encouragement and a reason to write!
Yesterday a dear friend and I sat in a historic house, waiting for guests who didn't visit. She went through my writings and found many chapters among my writings. So blessed!

I don't think you need your computer, Grace. Here's a great piece to read before your trip: https://www.janefriedman.com/guide-to-writers-conferences/
That Unshackled thing should be fascinating. I worked at Moody Radio while a student at Moody more than 50 years ago and knew a lot fo the voice actors back then.
Look forward to meeting you...
