Using a soft break in a MC

I asked about using a soft break in today's "A thick…" and submitted it too late for an answer. I have a specific question regarding the soft break. I am in the middle of writing the death scene where the husband dies and the wife is in the room interacting. This scene has stopped my book for a long time but in my last question you provided me with a way forward. I can kill off this character if I change the P. O. V. to another character.
My question is can I use soft breaks instead of scene breaks to keep the interaction more personal between them as I switch back and forth between what each is feeling, seeing or verbalizing?
Thank you for showing me a way to kill off that character. I cried receiving the way to move forward, and have wrote most of the rough draft.
