Using QR codes in printed books
Asked by Mark Biddy on October 25, 2020
Hi and thank you Jerry.
I just watched your 13 steps and it's exactly what I needed to hear in just the manner your presented it.
I'm working on my first manuscript (non-fiction) about what I loved, thought of, and concluded during my time(s) in Croatia, thanks to my Croatian girlfriend. I'm over 50 and writing from that perspective; and I'm also a citizen of 3 countries including a Caribbean antecedence. MY QUESTION is that I'm using QR codes in my book to bridge the gap from paper book to internet (via QR scanners on smartphones) – do you know if there is any print quality concerns with QR codes being scanned in traditional paper books? I'm working with Book Baby to get this first manuscript published so I have some logistical help from them. I'm an IT Director finally doing a line of work (writing) I've realized is a true calling…especially now that I have an empty nest and no hard responsibilities to earn IT management money.
Sincerely,
Mark
Jerry's Answer
I know of no reason why QR codes wouldn't work in printed books, Mark. Several friends have used these to great effect.
